Sketchbooks

Sketchbooks are an important element in Margaret Borthwick's art. She uses them to record details  seen on walks and develop ideas. She is fascinated by artists' sketchbooks especially those of Duncan Shanks, Victoria Crowe and Graham Sutherland.

Margaret continues to sketch regularly often with a friend who is a professional storyteller.

For the last ten years Margaret has been part of a group called Round About Art. From April to September the group meets every two weeks to paint and sketch in various locations en plain aire. Living in the West of Scotland alternative indoor venues are needed sometimes.
